The Energy Opportunities Supply Chain Project (EOSCP) is a joint project of WCDA and Britain’s Energy Coast-West Cumbria (BECWC).

TSB Nuclear Feasibility R&D Call - workshops available
Based on an independent study which it commissioned to review both the business opportunities and the UK’s R&D capability for the civil nuclear sector, the Technology Strategy Board has announced that it will be investing up to £2m in feasibility studies (up to a maximum of £150k each study) to stimulate innovation and strengthen the supply chain in the area of nuclear R&D and its applications.
Supported by The Northern Way Partnership, three regional workshops are being coordinated by the Energy Generation and Supply KTN to promote the competition, engage with the supply chain and broker potential partnerships.

Carbon Abatement Technologies - call for R&D proposals
The Technology Strategy Board, in partnership with The Northern Way and the Department of Energy and Climate Change's (DECC's) Environmental Transformation Fund, have allocated up to £15M to invest in innovative collaborative research, development, component and pilot scale demonstration, in the area of carbon abatement technologies. Development of these technologies will contribute significantly to meeting UK and EU climate change targets whilst providing significant market opportunities for a strong UK capability base.

Leadership and management practices in the nuclear industry - your views needed
Your views are sought by the National Skills Academy, Nuclear on leadership and management practices in the nuclear industry. The data gathered is being used to compile a report of current leadership and management training practices in the nuclear industry. The Skills Academy will use the data to inform the development of relevant leadership and management standards and training provision to the benefit of the wider industry. Masterclass highlights best practice in tendering for contracts
In an increasingly competitive business market a special Tendering Masterclass brought 15 companies together on 22 October at the Waterside House Business Centre in Barrow in Furness to learn about the anatomy of a winning tender. In an event jointly presented by Furness Enterprise and NWSC, companies exchanged experiences and received examples of what to do and what not to do when bidding for contracts in the nuclear, defence and energy industries.

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority NDA has today announced that Nuclear Management Partners Ltd, consisting of Washington International Holdings Ltd., AMEC and AREVA NC is the Preferred Bidder in the competition to secure a Parent Body Organisation (PBO) for the Sellafield Site Licence Company (SLC).
